Connect to Salesforce

Enable the plugin, authorize, and verify the connection. Takes about 3 minutes.

The Salesforce plugin is already available in your Claude account under the Pelago section.

  1. Open the Claude desktop app
  2. Go to Settings → Plugins
  3. Under the Pelago section, find the Salesforce plugin
  4. Make sure it's enabled
That's it! No files to download — the plugin is managed by your admin.

Before connecting, make sure you're logged into Salesforce in your browser.

  1. Log out of any other Salesforce orgs (staging, sandbox, etc.)
  2. Go to your production Salesforce login page
  3. Log in with your credentials
  4. Keep this tab open — Claude will use this session to authenticate
Important: Only be logged into one Salesforce org at a time, or the connection can go to the wrong place.

Start a new Cowork session and ask Claude anything about Salesforce. It will prompt you to authorize the connection.

Who am I in Salesforce?
  1. A browser tab will open with a Salesforce authorization screen
  2. Review the permissions and click Allow
  3. The tab will close — go back to Claude
  4. Claude should return your name and Salesforce profile info
If you see your name, you're connected! You only need to do this once.

Learn the Basics

Try core queries and understand what Claude can (and can't) do with Salesforce.

Ask Claude to pull account data. Use plain English — no need to know SOQL or Salesforce query syntax.

Claude can read data and update existing records. But there are hard limits:

Creating new records is blocked. If you ask Claude to create a new contact, account, or any other record, it will refuse. Create records directly in Salesforce.
Deleting records is not available. Claude has no delete capability through this integration.
Updates require your confirmation. Claude will always show you what it's about to change and ask for a "yes" before making any update.
